Synopsis
In a universe where every human life is captured on film, Rick Belafonte’s *Life Reel* becomes the subject of celestial intrigue. At the Final Festival, a cosmic court where souls are judged through their films, rebellious fallen angel Jakobi schemes to corrupt Rick’s reel with “evil edits,” ensuring his damnation. For Jakobi, it’s personal: Rick once loved his mother, Candy, whose tragic death still haunts him.
Meanwhile on Earth, Rick’s estranged son Benny stumbles into Flickers Picture Palace, an eerie cinema where reels reveal hidden truths. Alongside Frida, a young woman scarred by her own family’s neglect, Benny watches fragments of his childhood unfold onscreen, memories of his troubled father, a sabotaged horse race, and the mysterious fall of his mother.
Guided by Thor, a weary celestial auditor, Benny learns that Life Reels are sacred, balancing truth and lies to keep the universe intact. But Jakobi, Benny’s half-brother, is determined to weaponize film to rewrite destiny, exposing old secrets and threatening cosmic order.
As reels clash between truth and manipulation, Benny must confront the sins of his father, the lies of his brother, and the fragile thread between redemption and damnation. Life on Reel is a surreal, metaphysical odyssey where cinema itself decides the fate of souls.
