Cinema shows us what people do. CineClinic asks why.

CineClinic is where filmmaking meets psychiatry, a cinematic exploration of character, behaviour and the psychology hidden beneath the surface of a story.

Led by filmmaker and psychiatrist Steve, CineClinic looks beyond what happens on screen to investigate what might be happening inside the people we’re watching: the fears they hide, the relationships they repeat, the contradictions they carry, and the pressures that shape the choices they make.

We don’t diagnose characters. We investigate them.

Through scenes, performances, conversations and original narrative work, CineClinic brings together two ways of seeing: the filmmaker’s eye for story, performance and subtext, and the psychiatrist’s curiosity about behaviour, attachment, fear, shame, identity and relationships.

But the investigation doesn’t end with the character.

CineClinic asks you to look back at your own life. What do you recognise? What experiences, relationships or patterns are mirrored in the stories we explore?

Can understanding a character help us understand something about ourselves? Can a story give us a different way of seeing something we’ve lived through?

CineClinic doesn’t promise answers. It offers another way of looking.

Because every character has a psychology.
And every psychology tells a story.
